Concrete Builders Win Top Award at SHOWCASE
In place of our Builder Profile, which will return next issue

The Building Systems Councils (BSC) of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) announced the winners of its Excellence in Marketing and Home Design Awards during a ceremony at SHOWCASE 2004 in Austin, TX. The annual awards recognize the finest in marketing materials, model homes, and residential construction in the concrete, log, modular, and panelized home industries.

For the first year of competing in these awards, concrete home builders came out on top with achieving the a tie for the top honors in the Systems Builders Council Category for:

Outstanding Systems Built Home Over 2,200 sq. ft. Co-Winners:

Rufty Homes for "La Maison de Be'ton" -
"The House of Concrete"

Merlin Contracting for NAHB's
"The New American Home 2004"

The judge’s comments: We split our decision simply because these are two fantastic homes, but for two very different reasons. The New American Home 2004 is a magnificent contemporary home while La Maison de Be’ton” is more traditional.

This is the sixth year the Building Systems Council has honored the systems-built housing industry. The Excellence in Home Design competition is open to BSC member manufacturers and any NAHB builder member using systems-built housing.
