CHBC at Green Building Conference
ST. LOIUS — The National Association of Home Builders Concrete Home Building Council will be joining others at NAHB’s National Green Building Conference March 25-27. This three day event is the premier event for the green home building industry with attendance growing steadily each year. Conference organizers predict record crowds in 2007 as interest in sustainable building techniques continues to grow among home builders, home buyers, regulators and elected officials.
The conference is geared to a wide audience, ranging from the novice to the experienced green practitioner, said Matt Belcher, chair of the annual event, president of the Home Builders Association of St. Louis and Eastern Missouri, the conference host.
St. Louis HBA members will show off their green building skills during the annual Tour of Green
Homes on Sunday, March 25. Both new and remodeled homes in various stages of construction will be on display including a house built by Rick Hunter of Sage Homebuilding with insulated concrete forms (ICFs). The 3650 home has an old world, traditional style. Under the skin is a high performance Near Zero Energy Home, using ICF walls, geothermal heat source, cultured stone, and fiber cement siding. The largest exhibit hall yet with more than 70 vendors and service providers will be open Monday and Tuesday, March 26-27, with breakfast and lunch provided. Please plan to stop by the Concrete Home Building Council Booth #114. For more information on the Green Building event, please visit: www.nahb.org/greenbuilding.
