When We Say 'At Home with Concrete,' We Mean It!

When Royal Concrete Concepts opens its newly expanded concrete production facility in Okeechobee, Florida later this year, it will be give a whole new meaning to “At Home with Concrete.”  As a benefit of employment, Royal Concrete will develop housing within walking distance to the plant for workers and their families.  The planned community neighborhood will be developed on a nearby 30-acre site and will contain multi-family townhomes as well as single family residences that will house not only workers but Okeechobee residents as well.

Royal Concrete Concepts currently manufactures integrated building systems from their headquarters in West Palm Beach.  According to RCC representatives, the new Okeechobee plant will quadruple volume for the 10-year-old company.  When the facility is fully operational, it will employ more than 1,000 and have the capability to produce the equivalent of 36 floors of concrete per day.  Some of the product lines the plant will manufacture include residences, assisted living facilities, schools, commercial and government buildings.  Royal Concrete Concepts is known for its award-winning, patented Royall Wall® system that combines concrete, polystyrene and reinforced steel to create walls that can withstand Category 5 hurricane-force winds. The original wall system line was extended and now includes floors and roofs to create buildings that are strong, safe, healthy and cost effective.  The buildings are manufactured in a factory-style process and assembled before being delivered and installed on-site at their ultimate destination.

By incorporating a wet batch plant at the Okeechobee facility, the company will be able to produce its own concrete and have the distinction of being one of the largest casting facilities of its kind in the Southeast.  Another innovative aspect of the project includes a public/private partnership which helped create transportation improvements such as a new rail line that will deliver raw materials to the facility.

RCC’s corporate philosophy places a premium on innovative leadership in the industry.  As part of the planning and development for the new site, company officials invited engineering graduate students from University of Central Florida’s Housing Constructability Lab to evaluate Royal Concrete’s manufacturing processes and systems for efficiency.  As a result of their research, the plant has been specially designed & laid out with features that optimize operational efficiencies and minimize waste.  Both the West Palm Beach and Okeechobee facilities are available for tours and site visits.  For more information, visit www.royalconcreteconcepts.com [ return to top ]
