  CHBC Educational Courses

The Concrete Home Building Council has teamed up with the Home Builders Institute (HBI) - the workforce development arm of the National Association of Home Builders - to create the Concrete Specialization Series, an education track aimed to provide supervisors with the information needed to successfully manage residential construction sites utilizing concrete materials.  Geared towards field superintendents, these courses benefit current site personnel, and are designed to educate attendees on the core fundamentals of concrete construction.

According to Jim Neihoff, Residential Promotion Manager for the Portland Cement Association, "The dramatic growth of concrete home building systems has created an increasing need for programs to educate the building industry about cement-based products.  This series offers a perfect vehicle for builders and superintendents to learn about the latest advances in residential concrete construction."

Course topics include: Concrete Mix Designs and Troubleshooting; Handling Moisture Behind Brick Veneers to Back-Up Walls; Best Practices for Concrete Pavers and Segmental Retaining Walls;  Concrete Masonry Home Building; Insulated Concrete Forms Installation; and Pre-Cast Concrete for Single and Multi-Family Homebuilding
