Systems Building Looking to Speed-Up During Slow Market

The Building Systems Councils is excited to host their annual press conference at the International Builders Show Wednesday February 13 at 1:45pm in the NAHB News Conference Room 203A at the Orange County Convention Center.  While the housing industry braces itself during a difficult period, building systems have become an increasingly growing building solution.

Systems-built homes are constructed with concrete, log, modular, or panelized systems.  They are constructed to the same code standards and reflect the same, and often enhanced, quality levels as any site-built construction.  The advantage of systems-building is it’s done in a fraction of the time, with a fraction of the waste, reducing costly weather exposure.  Many systems-built homes are inherently “green,” adding an environmentally friendly label to the product.

Industry experts covering all areas of the systems-built industry will address the media at a Wednesday news conference, titled “Break Out of the Big Rut and Into a Building System,” during the International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla.

Charles, Bevier, Editor of Building Systems Magazine, will explain how systems-built homes generate success by providing high-quality, “green” homes.  Jerry Rouleau, President, J. Rouleau & Associates LLC, will share his views on how the systems-built industry is positioning itself to expand.  Ed Sullivan, Chief Economist for the Portland Cement Association, will provide a long-range economic forecast that includes how “green” building will affect the residential market.
