  Free Green Verifier Training

The National Association of Home Builders is bringing green to the mainstream with the launch of the NAHB National Green Building Program for all home builders and remodelers.   Currently the NAHB Research Center - the sole certifying body - is seeking interested, qualified individuals to become field verifiers for its National Green Building Certification Program.

To qualify, individuals must participate in the Verifier Training administered by the NAHB Research Center and pass a verifier accreditation test.

Although trainings will be offered at various locations around the country at a cost to participants, the Concrete Home Building Council of NAHB is pleased to offer this training free to registered attendees of the 2008 Concrete Technologies Tour June 1-3 in Charlotte, N.C.  All tour attendees are invited to participate in the training Sunday, June 1, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the Hilton Charlotte University Place.

To register for the Tour, please visit: www.nahb.org/concretetour

The verifier course covers the protocol for verifying that a house meets the national certification program requirements, and it is intended to ensure all verifiers across the country evaluate homes in a consistent manner.

Registration for training is open only to individuals who meet the pre-requisites including training and/or experience that provides a baseline understanding of general home building practices and specific "green" building knowledge. Specific types of experience that meet this eligibility requirement include:

Green Building will not be the only benefit to those attending the 2008 Concrete Technologies Tour.  In addition to the verifiers training, attendees will have first-hand exposure to some of the newest building trends in concrete including Insulated Concrete Forms, Concrete Masonry Systems, and Precast Concrete Foundations.
