New Widest Panel Tops TCA Top Ten List

The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) — a non-profit international organization and member of the NAHB’s Concrete Home Building Council that serves to expand and improve the use of site-cast Tilt-Up as the preferred construction method — has announced a new widest panel on its "Top Ten" list.

According to Jason Swagert, Vice President of Citadel Contractors, the Tilt-Up subcontractor for the project, the 74-foot, ½-inch wide panel was one of 270 panels for 200,000-square-foot High Point Town Center retail center located in Prattville, Ala.  With a shell construction schedule of a mere five months, the center opened in October.

Swagert said Tilt-Up was selected because it was more economical than conventional construction and the construction method also enabled the team to meet a very aggressive schedule.  Further, he noted that the wide panel was a necessity in order to accomplish the same architectural features as would have been constructed using conventional construction.

“Tilt Up construction provides a variety of options that makes the construction process faster, cleaner and more durable to pests and weather,” said Swagert.
