Education Boosts Opportunities

With the growing popularity in residential concrete construction, the Concrete Home Building Council in conjunction with NAHB’s Home Builders Institute developed The Concrete Superintendent Series - a series of concrete based courses geared toward field superintendents. These courses benefit current site personnel wishing to expand their knowledge of cement based building applications.

Promotional Need
These ten courses are offered through local state home builder associations (HBAs). Because HBAs are approached with a multitude of opportunities, the Concrete Home Building Council relies heavily on industry affiliates to approach HBAs and generate the necessary interest with staff.  Only when an individual from the industry conveys the need for these classes to the HBA will the HBA consider investing time and resources in a class.  Member advocates are instrumental to encouraging HBAs to hosting the Concrete Specialization Series.

Instructors
HBI has a list of “Approved Instructors” who are qualified to teach the courses.  HBI instructors have successfully completed NAHB’s Train the Trainer Program as well as the class they intend to instruct.  After a thorough application process, instructors are prepped and ready to teach.   Depending on location and availability, HBI will work to help identify the best candidate for the class.  The next Train the Trainer class will be held January 21 at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas. Register today.
