NAHB's Business Management Department seeks feedback on performance compensation issue

Less than a third of workers who want tangible rewards—whether a special event, cash bonus, gift, or plaque—actually receive them. More than half agree that company recognition (or lack of it) affects their job performance, according to a recent online poll.

Home builders reportedly are using bonuses to compensate employees for a job well done.

Last year, the California Building Industry Association commissioned a survey of compensation. The survey, which drew responses from 44 builders with more than 12,000 employees, found that while average base salary was up by about 3 percent between 2004 and 2005, total cash compensation was up by more than 23 percent.

Please take a moment to complete a survey to help NAHB’s Business Management Department and Publications Work Group gauge builder interest in performance evaluation and compensation strategies.
