I want to thank everyone for the opportunity to serve this august group during the last year. I have truly enjoyed working with all of you. There are many new changes slated for next year, including an advanced CAPS course currently in the works. I look forward to watching the CAPS program expand into the future. 

I had the privilege of attending the Remodeling Show in Indianapolis this year where the Homes for Life award winners were announced. First, I would like to thank all participants who sent in entries, it was very hard to choose the winners, they were all excellent designs. I would like to congratulate the three award winners on their outstanding designs, Carole Ponzio, CGA, CAPS, of Design Solutions in Port Charlotte, Fla., Patricia Nunan, CAPS of Lifestyles Design in Perkiomenville, Penn., and Tom Ashley, CGR, CAPS, CGP of Expand, Inc. in Denham Springs, La. Keep up the hard work. You are all helping to drive the CAPS industry forward into the future.

I would also like to take this time to mention Mr. Doug Sutton, CGR, CAPS, of Sutton Siding & Remodeling in Springfield, Ill., for winning this year's Remodeler of the Year award. We could not have a better representative of our industry than Mr. Sutton. Congratulations, Doug and thanks for all of the outstanding leadership you have shown me and our industry.

I want to thank my Vice Chair, Donny Mack, CGR, CGB, CAPS, GMB, of Beaver Builders in Sanger, Texas, for all of his assistance and support this past year. I know that Donny will continue to serve the CAPS industry in a very responsible and professional manner this next year as Chairman.

To the NAHB staff, thank you all for helping me along this past year. You have been very supportive and I have truly enjoyed working with all of you. A special thanks to Therese Crahan for keeping me on task and always well informed. I couldn't have found a more knowledgeable assistant.
