An Invitation to Make More Money as a Remodeler
You are invited to an exclusive view of what the CGR designation has to offer in this special issue of the CGReport. We hope that you will take the time to read this issue and consider your future as a CGR, the elite of the industry!
Greetings All,
I am Stephen L. Robinson CGB, CGR, GMB, CAPS. I am the 2006 Chairman of the CGR Board of Governors and MY DESIGNATION MAKES ME MONEY!
I know that some of you are saying “No, it costs money,” while others are saying “Right On! It makes me money too!” I shall speak to the former.
My designation is something I use on every document I have possessed since May of 1998, when I was privileged enough to have graduated and earned the right to use the CGR designation. I put it out in front of the public every chance that I get. Some people see it and wonder what it is. Some people ask, ”What is all of that alphabet soup behind your name mean?” I then have the opportunity to enlighten them on the training, education, and dedication to my profession that I try to bring to the table every time that I do a project. It gives me the opportunity to show myself as some one dedicated to my profession, because I am a professional. I can show myself as a person dedicated to taking myself and my company to a higher plateau of excellence. IT SELLS JOBS!
What is that you say? It sells jobs? I had a minimum of four jobs this year that I achieved because my customer, my client, saw my designations, made inquiries, and did not seek other bids. These were not small jobs. The total gross volume from these four projects amounted to 25% of our overall gross yearly volume. What would you do to have 25% of your volume pre-qualified and non-competing? For most of us this sounds pretty good. My question is why would you not want this?
I find it difficult to understand:
- Why there are not more of us out here?
- Why more of us aren’t taking advantage of marketing our designations better?
- Why would anyone let their designations lapse?
Did you not work hard to earn it? Aren’t you proud of it? WELL I AM! And if you don’t want to use yours, okay, because MY DESIGNATION MAKES ME MONEY!
Regards,
Stephen L. Robinson CGB, CGR, GMB, CAPS
