2007 Certified Graduate Remodeler of the Year

2007 CGR of the Year Awardee, Allen W. Griffin, CGR, GMB, CAPS

The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) honored Allen W. Griffin, CGR, GMB, CAPS, with the distinction of 2007 Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) of the Year. The award was presented in February during the International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla.

The CGR designation requires that graduates meet prescribed standards of business practice, possess a minimum of five years remodeling industry experience, have a proven track record of successful project management, complete a comprehensive education curriculum, and pledge to uphold the program's code of ethics. Each year, NAHB recognizes a top performer in this area.

President and founder of Gryphon Builders in Houston, Texas, Griffin’s award-winning design and build firm has earned accolades for its exceptional designs and renovations. He has held various positions during his 13 years in the construction industry and is an active member of the Remodelers Council with the Greater Houston Builders Association. Earning and promoting designations for the remodeling industry is an important cause for Griffin.

“Allen Griffin has a great passion for the value that designations bring to the remodeling industry, including enhancing the professionalism, skills, and integrity of professional remodelers,” said NAHB Remodelers Chairman Lonny Rutherford, a remodeler from New Mexico. “He continues to inspire and encourage remodelers to become members of the association and obtain their designations, and we are proud to recognize him for these important contributions to our industry.”

Griffin is published in several trade publications and has supported the community by contributing his time and talents to Houston Habitat for Humanity, Adopt a Family, Build a Bike, and several other organizations.
