Vote Online For NAHB Builder Through Sunday Oct. 11
Home builder Tom Gipson, a member of the HBA of Raleigh-Wake County, has been selected as one of ten national finalists for the ABC television show “The View’s” Ultimate Volunteer contest.
Gipson is being recognized for founding the nationwide Builder Blitz program in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. In 2006, more than 1,000 home builders constructed 459 Habitat homes in a single week — the largest one-week blitz build in Habitat’s 30-year history. Another 269 homes were built in 2008, despite the housing downturn that has devastated our industry. So far, approximately 1,000 homes valued at more than $50 million have been built as gifts from home builders to their communities.
Gipson’s efforts represent the generosity and dedication to community service of home builders across the nation, which so often goes unrecognized. His selection as the Ultimate Volunteer will bring attention to the charitable work of all home builders.
Gipson was the recipient of the 2006 Silver National Housing Endowment Builder Achievement Award for Outstanding Community Service, read more here.
Please vote for Gipson online today here. Voting is through Sunday, one vote per e-mail address can be submitted each day. Spread the word to your families, friends and colleagues!
