The NAHB Home Technology Alliance (HTA) is a technology initiative that was formed in the summer of 2007 to serve as a resource for NAHB’s membership on matters related to electronic integration and home technology products and services for the housing industry. The HTA positions the housing industry to effectively meet the growing homebuyer demand for home technology and provide maximum ROI (return on investment) in the new home building and remodeling process for both the homeowner and builder.
Oversight Work Group: The HTA Work Group is comprised of NAHB member builders, remodelers, electronic systems contractors (ESCs), product manufacturers and industry players.

- HTA Newsletter- delivers information on home technologies, the electronic systems contractor trade, trends, research and industry recognition - sign up by contacting HTA
- Article contribution– home technology-related articles are provided to Nation's Building News Online, the official NAHB weekly electronic newspaper
- HGTVPro Webisodes - currently in development by the HTA, these Webisodes feature differing home technology product options and educates builders and remodelers on home technology business opportunities
- IRM Home Technology Course- currently in development by The NAHB University of Housing with a target completion date of 2009, this course will be targeted to but not limited to builders and remodelers – it will provide education on home technology options, profit building techniques, sales techniques geared toward marketing technologies and an overview of the installation process for home technology options in building and remodeling projects
- Education Sessions– creates and provides educational sessions, panels and resources on home technologies and structured wiring geared toward the residential building industry
- Information Resource– serves as a central repository of information to NAHB’s membership that demonstrates how incorporating electronic integration and home technology products and services in the residential business model can increase the quality, marketability and value of homes of home built or remodeled by NAHB members – this includes information on the electronic systems contractor trade
