E-mail Our Editor In this issue: CEDIA Sponsored Education Courses Feature Hot Trends info for Builders and ESCsEducation is a big part of CEDIA’s and HTA’s efforts. CEDIA Member Matt Carter, CEO, Playback, and HTA Founding Sponsor Vice Chair, will lead two thought-provoking sessions. On Jan. 20, 2010, from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in Room South 221 of the Convention Center join Matt to discuss Planning for Residential Electronic Systems. Home buyers' expectations regarding technology evolve so quickly it may seem like a moving target. In this session, you'll learn about the role that an Electronic Systems Contractor (ESC) can play in helping you meet these expectations. You’ll get an insider's perspective on the responsibilities and functions of an ESC, and get a better handle on such design requirements as space, framing, electrical and ventilation. On Jan. 21, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., also in Room South 221, Matt presents the perfect complement to the Planning session, Top 10 Technology Trends. This program provides an overview of consumer expectations related to technology and explains why design and build professionals must understand current trends. This session will highlight the top 10 technology trends and their likely impact on the design and build community. By becoming familiar with these new ideas and products, attendees will not only be better able to converse with customers about their needs, but will also be more capable of designing in the technology features they demand. These courses are offered through CEDIA’s robust industry partner education curriculum that has been approved for continuing education credit by NAHB and eight additional design and build organizations.
