WEST VIRGINIA 

SB245
If passed, this bill would permit municipalities to require proof of payment of county school impact fees before issuance of building permits for residential structures. As of January 21st, the bill was referred to the Judiciary Committee.

HAWAII

SB2075
This bill would allow the department of education to impose impact fees or other exactions upon developers to support construction of school facilities that will be required as a result of residential development. As of January 26th, it was referred to the Senate Education, Senate Ways and Means Committee.

HB1754
House Bill 1754, if passed, would authorize the counties to assess impact fees and transfer revenue to a new state special fund to help pay for state highway improvements that serve new or more intensive development. On January 22nd, HB1754 was referred to House Water, Land Use & Hawaiian Affairs/House Transportation, House Judiciary, House Finance Committees.

WASHINGTON

SB6413
The state is proposing, in this bill, that it would require impact fees for residential construction be collected only by the county, city, or town imposing the fees either: (1) at the time of final inspection of the residence; or (2) at the time the certificate of occupancy is issued. On February 14th, this bill was referred to the Local Government Committee. [ return to top ]
