Alexander W. "Sandy" Mackie, Jr. is a partner in the law firm of Perkins Coie, in Olympia, Washington, where he focuses his practice on various land use, environmental, and development issues including, growth management, shoreline regulation, project planning, state and local planning, zoning, and permitting.  Sandy has represented numerous developers and builders in projects involving planned communities, resort developments, and commerical and industrial properties.  He is an accomplished writer and speaker, having been published in multiple land use and environmental publications.  Sandy has argued various cases before the Washington Supreme Court and was recently listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Environmental Law Specialty (2003).  He is a graduate of George Washington University and holds a Bachelor of Arts from Claremont Men's College. Sandy is a member of the Washington State and Thurston County Bar Associations, as well as the District of Columbia Bar and the U.S. Supreme Court Bar.
