Announcing Countrywide's Three Proprietary Insurance Products

We are happy to announce a new Member Advantage discount program developed exclusively for NAHB members, including three proprietary insurance products: Builder’s Risk/Course of Construction, Land/Lot Developer’s General Liability, and Builder/General Contractor General Liability (vertical construction). Countrywide will be rolling out the program incrementally, beginning with five initial target states with additional states implanted as the program is rolled out.  A timeline for the national roll out is being developed and will be disseminated to Executive Officers in the coming months.

State HBAs must opt-in to participate and can choose to opt-in to only one element of the program if a state so desires.  Additionally, any state HBA that does not initially opt-in to the program offering can later choose to participate and opt-in.  If there is no state association, the local association can opt-in.  Countrywide will not sell these proprietary insurance products to any member in a state that has chosen not to opt-in to the program.

This is first and foremost a member service designed to make insurance available to our members across the country.  However, this too is a revenue share program which will certainly generate non-dues revenue for participating HBA’s.  As approved by the Executive Board and Board of Directors, NAHB will split fifty percent (50%) of the royalty revenue that it receives from Countrywide to the Opt-in States. Each state is required to revenue share with their local HBAs.
