7,500 Association Money-Makers Standing By Across the Country
Your non-dues revenue partners are just down the street. In fact, there are over 7,500 of them across the country. Who are these money-making partners? Your local GM-authorized dealers.
These are dealers who sell Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac, GMC, Saturn, HUMMER, Saab or Cadillac passenger car, light-duty truck, van or SUV and use your private offer on most vehicles.* Customers must take delivery by January 3, 2008.
Get to know your local GM-authorized dealers.
Drop by the showroom.
Send a GM buckslip to each dealer in your area, along with a personalized letter.
Invite them to talk about GM products at your next meeting, particularly their biggest sellers in the building industry.
It would be great if all the GM dealers in the area were members, yet that might not always be possible. But in terms of this GM discount program for our members, they are partners. As the high-earning locals often say, members are happy and the revenue share ads up, $50 every time a GM vehicle drives out of the local dealership.
Get out the phone book or go online (GM Dealer Locator ) and contact all the money-making partners in your area.
Help your local GM Dealers get in touch with your members. Everybody – especially your members – can be a winner. The GM NAHB private offer is a great offer to take advantage of.
*Program excludes Cadillac XLR, XLR-V, and STS-V, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and SSR, HUMMER H1, Pontiac Solstice, Saturn SKY and medium-duty trucks.

Member Savings and Association Revenue: Shortcuts You Can Use
Word has been coming in from local builder associations across the country: it’s easy to push up the revenues from the Member Advantage revenue share. Just take these two simple shortcuts everyday:
The main lesson to learn from successful HBAs is that they make the Member Advantage Program a priority because it serves two very valuable functions: member retention and recruitment AND the potential for serious non-dues revenue for their associations.
Make the Member Advantage your own. Feature the Member Advantage logo on your website with a link to www.nahb.org/ma. This page features all the discounts currently available as well as instructions on how to access the savings. Add a line to the bottom of your emails, reminding members to cash in on the savings. Solveras and Hertz offer you the opportunity to customize materials with your HBA name. Paychex regularly offers great on-site speaking and accreditation opportunities. The GM buck slip works the charm in a dues renewal mailing.
Communicate your Member Advantage benefits at every opportunity. Include a variety of Member Advantage materials in your new member welcome kits, member mailings, and dues renewals. Make them available at all member events. Order free inserts at www.nahb.org/matoolkit. Feature the Member Advantage programs in your newsletters or magazines. A wide variety of ads are free and waiting for you to download.
Work with Member Advantage companies at the local level. For example, all GM dealers in your area can become a part of your member benefits and association revenue team when they have your help in promoting the GM program.
For more information, contact Tiffany Smith, Director of Affinity Programs, at tsmith@nahb.com.
Other associations say “remember to take the shortcuts.” In 2006, members saved over $7 million, associations earned over $600,000.
