GM NAHB $500 private offer details for 2008
Members used this program when purchasing approximately 10,000 vehicles in 2007. Now the full details for 2008 are available at www.nahb.org/MA.
Please note that GM has made some changes to simplify the process. Here are the basics.
Instead of presenting a proof of membership document, members will present an authorization ID number. To obtain this ID they must go to www.nahb.org/ma.
New Procedure for giving new members access to the GM program. Note: the form using local association letterhead is no longer accepted. Go to the MA Toolkit to find out how to give new members access to the GM program.
HBA staff is also eligible for the program. NAHB will process HBA staff like new members. Please follow the new member procedure outlined in how to give new members access to the GM program.
From time to time you may get calls from GM dealers inquiring how they get their rebate from GM. The procedure is outlined at www.nahb.org/ma .<
Who is eligible for the GM program?
Builder, Associate and Affiliate members are eligible for the program. The member of record for the company is the person who must do the purchasing of the vehicle.
Is there a limit to the number of vehicles members can purchase during the term of the program?
No, there is no limit to the number of vehicles members can purchase. The only requirement is that members take possession of the vehicle by January 2, 2009.
What do members need to present to their dealers to receive the $500 discount?
Members must present their authorization ID number. They may obtain this from www.nahb.org/ma or through the GM call center 866.760.7070. One authorization ID number is needed per vehicle so if a member purchases 3 vehicles at one time, he/she will need 3 authorization ID numbers.
What are some cost-effective ways to communicate this valuable member benefit to members?
- Send your members to www.nahb.org/MA and tell them to click on the GM logo. All the information is right there.
- Go to the MA Toolkit to order free GM buckslips. Include them in with dues renewals and feature them at member events (minor shipping charges will apply).
- Feature the free GM ads available in the MA Toolkit, which are available in a variety of sizes for your member communications .
- Reach out to your local GM dealers. They are a great resource to help you spread the word. It would be great if each of them would become a member, but sometimes that is not possible. They are valuable partners because HBA’s that are participating in the revenue share program earn $50 for every vehicle that drives off the lot. It’s a win-win situation for everyone.
