GM NAHB $500 Private Offer Details for 2009

Yes, the GM program is back in 2009 and even better than ever! The big news for 2009 is that GM has increased the royalty by 50% to $150 per vehicle. For the local HBA’s in a state where their state is not signed up for revenue sharing, that means you will receive $75 for every vehicle your members purchase in 2009.

The full details for 2009 are available at www.nahb.org/ma, but some frequently asked questions are featured below.

Who is eligible for the GM program?

Builder, Associate and Affiliate members are eligible for the program. The member of record for the company is the person who must do the purchasing of the vehicle.

Is there a limit to the number of vehicles members can purchase during the term of the program?

No, there is no limit to the number of vehicles members can purchase.  The only requirement is that members take possession of the vehicle by January 4, 2010.

What do members need to present to their dealers to receive the $500 discount?

Members must present their authorization ID number. They may obtain this from www.nahb.org/ma or through the GM call center 866.760.7070. One authorization ID number is needed per vehicle so if a member purchases 3 vehicles at one time, he/she will need 3 authorization ID numbers.

Are HBA employees eligible for the $500 private offer?

Yes, HBA employees are eligible for the $500 private offer. Please follow the same procedure you would for giving a new member access to the program.

Ordering Your 2009 Member Advantage Collateral

The 2009 collateral for Member Advantage will be available for HBAs to order for no charge immediately following the International Builders' Show®. An order form will be included in the February 3rd edition of EO Mail as well as the Friday Morning Email to EOs.

The Member Advantage Postcard will be making its debut in 2009 thanks to the wonderful suggestions and feedback from our many friends at HBAs across the country. This colorful, self-mailer makes it very easy for you to remind members of the many discounts available to them throughout the year. Simply place a label on the back of the piece and pop it in the mail!

Also, please don’t forget the wealth of free resources available to you in the Member Advantage Toolkit. Here’s a quick rundown of the various tools available to you. 2009 content will be ready for use immediately following IBS.

  • Ads for print and electronic communications in a variety of sizes; full color and black and white
  • PowerPoint Slides for every participating company complete with talking points - exceptional for new member orientation, board meetings, and other member events.

Starting in January 2009, the Member Advantage Update will be sent on a bimonthly basis as opposed to every month. Do not despair, as the Member Advantage team will continue to keep you apprised of new programs, special promotions, and other breaking news via the Friday Morning E-mail to EO's, EO Mail, and the Membership Listserv.
