E-mail Our Editor In this issue: New/Renewed American Homes Met with Resounding SuccessThis year was a year of firsts. It was the first time NAHB had not one, but two showcase homes to unveil at the International Builders Show. It was also the first time the staff of NAHB were invited to view The New and Renewed American homes before the show officially started. To no surprise, the homes were received with overwhelming awe and approval by all who toured them.
The number of industry attendees who viewed the TNAH/TRAH show homes during the International Builders Show hours (a 23 hour period) was 2,726. Those rave reviews also extended to the media coverage from all across the country – including such major newspapers like the Washington Post, Newsday and more. Stories about the 2007 TNAH/TRAH 2007 reflected the impact the product showcase has within the building industry. In Newsday, Ray Accettella of Jarro Building Industries said, “I love it, all of it. The idea behind this house is to use materials and products and use a lot of them so they dazzle you. The way the builder, architect and interior design people make it work is just amazing." Many see the products in The New & Renewed American Homes as a way to stay one step ahead of
their competitors. "Professionals who see this remodeled house can bring new stuff back to Long Island and be a step ahead of their competitors," said Bob Wieboldt, executive vice president of the (Long Island Builders) institute said in Newsday. "They get to see products and techniques up close, even before they get into the glossy magazines." This is perhaps why the Austin-American Statesman ran the headline “See Tomorrow's Home Today.” And they love the products! For example, Eric Mathison, Vice President of residential products for a remodeling firm talked about Phantom Manufacturing’s screens. He said in Newsday, “Ingenious. Those screens would really be a hit on Long Island." Congratulations to all who participated! It’s no surprise that the Ottawa Citizen described the New American Home as “the star of the massive five-day show.” For more information or to contact us directly, please visit www.NAHB.org | ©2007, National Association of Home Builders |
