Local SMCs to Start Collecting MIRM Dues

Currently MIRMs pay a $95 annual renewal fee directly to NAHB, which includes $30 of NSMC dues — a portion of the benefit of being an active MIRM. Beginning with the March 15th SMC roster mailing, MIRM members will be included on the local SMC billing reports — therefore, SMCs will collect the $30 NSMC dues directly from their MIRMs.

In a recent survey, a majority of SMCs requested that NAHB invoice the MIRM annual renewal fee of $65 and allow the local SMC to begin collecting the $30 NSMC dues. This will make invoicing more straightforward. When this change takes effect in March, local SMC members who are MIRMs will be invoiced and processed as SMC members at the local level.

This change will NOT affect MIRMs who are not members of a local sales and marketing council. Those “at-large” MIRMs will continue to be invoiced $95 directly from NAHB.

NAHB will reduce the MIRM annual renewal fee to $65 and will send out a notification of this change immediately. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Michael Copp at 800-368-5242 x8340 or by e-mail at mcopp@nahb.com. [ return to top ]
