Hal Von Nessen is 2007 IRM President

Hal Von Nessen, MIRM, CMP, founder and owner of RESH Marketing in Columbia, South Carolina, was named president of the National Association of Home Builders’ (NAHB) Institute of Residential Marketing (IRM) at the International Builders’ Show in Orlando, Fla., earlier this year.

Founded in 1977, the IRM is the educational arm of NAHB’s National Sales and Marketing Council (NSMC). The IRM was created to guarantee the highest skill level of new home sales and marketing professionals.

Von Nessen founded RESH Marketing, which provides marketing, advertising, and public relations services, in 1979. He has over forty years of career experience in media and advertising, which began in 1959 with a stint at a Georgia radio station. Von Nessen holds a BS in management and an MBA from the University of South Carolina. He earned the Member, Institute of Residential Marketing (MIRM) designation in 1992, and was presented with the Trina Ripley Excellence in Education Award from NAHB in 2004.

An active member of NAHB since 1983, Von Nessen serves on the NSMC board of trustees and the IRM education committee. He is a principal instructor of IRM courses and is a member of the editorial team revising the MIRM designation curriculum.

“Hal’s leadership and his commitment to education are highly regarded among our membership,” said Michael Copp, assistant staff vice president of the NSMC. “We’re looking forward to achieving great things with him.” [ return to top ]
