IRM Fellows Nomination & Application Materials Now Available

It's time to start thinking about who deserves the honor of being named the next IRM Fellow. Nomination and application materials are now available online.

Advancement to Fellowship is the highest membership honor bestowed on a member of the IRM, reflecting the member’s significant contributions to the profession.  The new Fellows will be announced at the IRM Commencement Breakfast during the NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, Nev., in January 2010.

The purpose of the IRM Fellows program is to introduce an elite membership level that seeks to build a community of “fellows” to:

  • Promote the profession of selling and marketing new homes and/or related products and services

  • Advance the standards of sales and marketing education

  • Make the profession an ever-increasing service to the building industry

  • Advance the value of the IRM and its designations among homebuilding professionals

To advance to Fellow, a nominee must prove he or she fulfills the following achievement categories:

  • Notable contributions through his/her work in education, research, literature, or the practice of sales and marketing.  Work in education may be teaching, research, administration, or writing and should have a lasting impact, be widely recognized, and provide inspiration to others in the field and the profession.

  • Active, efficient, and cooperative leadership within the Institute over a sustained period of time and widespread recognition for the results of work performance.

  • Notable contributions in public service or work in industry organizations and thereby raising the standards of professional performance in sales and marketing.

  • Notable contributions to the public good through alternative careers or volunteer work with organizations not directly connected to the built environment. Achievements may also be of a kind that transcends the other categories for advancement to serve society or humanity in a unique and important manner.
