Now in its seventh year, Building for Boomers & Beyond is the premier education and networking conference for industry professionals who serve the 50+ housing market, attracting hundreds of builders, developers, architects, sales and marketing professionals, and others in the 50+ housing industry. Presented by the NAHB 50+ Housing Council, Building for Boomers & Beyond will take place May 30–June 1 at the Hyatt Regency Denver at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Three Housing Tours This year’s conference features several new events, including three housing tours focusing on different segments of the market: Active Adult, Service-Enriched, and Transit-Oriented Development. Educational Programs Building for Boomers & Beyond’s educational programs cover design, multifamily, operations, planning, sales and marketing, and more. More than 35 breakout sessions are scheduled, as well as three full-day education courses: Designing for the Active Adult, Selling to Active Adults, and Smart Planning for Active Adult Communities. Speakers This year’s keynote speaker is Andrew Zolli, a foresight and global trends expert who analyzes critical trends at the intersection of culture, technology, and global society. Zolli will give a talk entitled Life in a Long-Lived World: What Increased Longevity Means for Work, Life and Society. Sarah Susanka, renowned author, architect, and cultural visionary, will speak at the general session. Susanka’s “build better, not bigger” approach to residential architecture has been embraced by homeowners, architects and builders across the country and her “Not So Big” philosophy has sparked an international dialogue. Building for Boomers & Beyond also features several networking and social events, including a kick-off reception, cocktail reception, "Denver Day Out," and an optional Colorado Rockies baseball game and pre-game picnic. The Best of 50+ Housing Awards also will be held during the Symposium, at a gala evening event.
