Make the time! Though it can be time consuming, documentation is a useful quality process that is critical to the success of your business, according to a recent article (Dan Domalik, March 2008) in the American Society for Quality’s (ASQ’s) Quality Progress magazine. Documenting actions and decisions can be the difference between winning or losing a dispute or legal claim. It is also important when it comes to completing a task. “If documentation is required and not completed, the task is unfinished,” according to the article. “Many quality processes require documentation in some form to trigger the next phase.
