Calling all Remodelers for NAHB's National Green Building Conference
NAHB’s National Green Remodeling conference will be in New Orleans on May 11-13, 2008, and they are eagerly seeking expert remodelers to present on green remodeling.
Almost 1,100 attendees filled classrooms at the 2007 conference, which was held in St. Louis, in March, and more are expected at next year’s sessions.
The annual NAHB event is the only national conference targeted to green home building for the mainstream residential building industry. Presenters are being sought to address builders, remodelers, land developers, engineers, architects, planners, public officials and environmental activists.
Prospective speakers should describe their professional proficiency in areas such as energy efficiency, water conservation, indoor air quality, waste management, design and low-impact development. All proposals are evaluated based on relevance to green building, the timeliness of the topic and its practical application and the speaker’s qualifications.
“The breadth of the subject matter in the submissions we receive is pretty phenomenal,” said program manager Emily English, who works with the Green Building Subcommittee’s conference planning team to evaluate the proposals. “There’s just a lot of information out there, and I know that our members look to this conference to help them make sense of it all.”
Remodelers interested in presenting at the conference should submit their name, company, session title, session description, and whether they intend the session to have an individual speaker or a panel to Emily English at eenglish@nahb.com, or call her at 800-368-5242 x8366.
