Three Education Courses Offered at Fall BoardThe NAHB University of Housing has three education offerings during the Fall Board of Directors Meeting in Columbus, OH. On Sept. 27-29, the Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP) course will be held from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. each day and counts toward CSP and MCSP designations. Attendees will gain a broad understanding of the home building business, discuss consumer psychology, and learn the advanced techniques used by real estate veterans for greeting, closing, and overcoming objections. Home construction, financial and legal aspects of new home sales are also covered. The NAHB member fee is $450 and non-member fee is $495. NAHB's new Pricing for Profits seminar is scheduled for Sept. 29 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Financial literacy is a requirement every builder needs to make the profits you deserve and want. This seminar will teach you how to use a financial model created expressly for builders which easily builds a realistic budget for each home you build, quantify the profit you’ll make, and use the model to track your financial performance as you build each home and ensure that you make that profit! You'll gain the financial skills to build financially smarter homes, be more confident that the sales price you ask is profitable to you, and make more money on each house you build. You’ll also take away from this a copy of the spreadsheets used during the class, so you can immediately put into action what you’ve learned and Price For Profits! The NAHB member fee is $319 and non-member fee is $369.
Plan Early for National Designation Month 2005 — The 50% Discount Is BackThis year's National Designation Month was a great success, because of the demand for courses that resulted from its promotion, The NAHB University of Housing will be holding this event again in February of 2005. That includes the 50% discount off student fees for classes offered in February.
Fee Changes BAR and PREP Announced for 2005The CGB and CGR Boards of Governors have approved a fee change effective January 2005. The registration fee for the PREP and the BAR will be $195 instead of $175. At the same time, the programs’ application and its accompanying fee (currently $50 for members and $100 for non-members) will be eliminated. This means that candidates for the CGB and CGR designations will no longer be required to complete a separate program application for entrance into the CGB and CGR programs.
