Rock and Roll at the Remodeling Show

This year, the Remodeling Show went West to Las Vegas with more than 7,500 attendees, a trade show floor filled with 380 companies, and 99,700 square feet of new opportunities, networking, training and business building.

The Remodeling Show provided a multitude of education sessions and unique course tracks including the CGR designation courses, a newly revised CAPS course track and the PREP exam. “I left each conference course with a new way of looking at how I should run my business.” said one conference attendee.

The NAHB Remodelers booth presented a new look for 2007 with our fresh logo and proudly presented banner for all attendees to see. The booth was a flurry of activity throughout the week.  Attendees had a chance to view a montage of national news clips presented on a revolving DVD presentation, attend educational forums given by industry leaders such as Mike Nagel, CGR, CAPS, Jud Motsenbocker, CGR, CAPS, Brindley Byrd, CGR, CAPS and Tom Swartz, CGR.

Various arms of the NAHB family were also onsite to inform attendees.  The Home Builders Institute (HBI) provided a plethora of information and enticed members by offering a chance to win a reciprocating saw. NAHB Education Marketing was also on-site, where Jennifer Sloane, provided a wealth of information on the NAHB education initiatives. The NAHB 20 Clubs representatives, Erika Bucksel and Cheryl Caufield were also on hand to offer membership information and to round out the NAHB booth experience, Cara Mason from BuildPac and Kristi Wainio from the International Builders' Show marketing were also available.

NAHBR also hosted a half-day workshop for Local Councils, honored new CGR and CAPS graduates with a swinging reception, and celebrated 25 years of NAHBR excellence with the annual awards gala at the Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino. See the awards article in this issue for more on the award winners.

Whether Remodelers were looking for new products in the exhibit hall or new business practices in the education programs, the Remodeling Show provided the resources to meet growing industry needs. The Remodeling Show will return to the Baltimore Convention Center for 2008. Exhibits and Conferences will be held September 9–12, 2008. We hope to see you there!
