50+ Housing Council Plans Full Schedule at 2006 IBS

Florida is one of the most popular destinations for retirees. It also happens to be the site for the 2006 International Builders’ Show, which returns to Orlando, Fla. for the second straight year. Join the NAHB 50+ Housing Council the week of Jan. 9-14 at the Orange County Convention Center for the largest annual light construction show in the world.

The NAHB 50+ Housing Council will offer more than 30 education sessions, providing you with the latest information on the burgeoning 50+ market.

“Can't-miss” education programs at 2006 IBS include:

  • Designing for the Active Adult
    Tuesday, Jan. 10, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    Could you increase your business by designing homes and communities to better meet the needs of the growing active adult population? Designing for the Active Adult provides an overview of design considerations for single-family and multifamily housing for active adults. Cost is $150 for NAHB 50+ Housing Council members, $175 for NAHB members, and $225 for non-members.   • Inside the Mind of the Active Adult Homebuyer — Marketing Breakfast
    Thursday, Jan. 12, 7:30 – 9 a.m. Peer into the mind the of today’s active adult as you learn the results of a just-completed nationwide survey of prospective 50+ homebuyers. As the survey results are being presented, hear from three builders how the results compare to buyers in their markets. This breakfast program is a MUST for anyone interested in today’s 50+ housing market. Registration is required. Cost is $35 per person.   • How to Get Started in Active Adult Housing
    Friday, Jan. 13, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Learn about the housing market's fastest-growing segment. This power-packed full-day workshop will teach you the successful programs, tactics, techniques, strategies, and solutions to have a winning 55+ lifestyle community. Taught by seven nationally known recognized professionals, this is one program you can't miss! No fee.

  • 50+ Housing Council Community Bus Tour
    Friday, Jan. 13, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
    Check out several of the Orlando area's premier communities in one of the country's hottest retirement destinations. Tour the clubhouses, models, and amenities — and come away with ideas to apply to your own communities. Cost is $75 per person. Register early because the tour is guaranteed to sell out.
