Mexico's Housing Market: Cross Border Investment & Business Opportunities

Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Orange County Convention Center W300 Lecture Hall

Hear firsthand from Carlos Gutierrez, Mexico’s Commissioner of Housing and other distinguished experts from Mexico’s homebuilding sector about the burgeoning housing market and growing opportunities to do business with our closest neighbor and second-largest trading partner. In addition to strong demand, Mexico’s economy is increasingly prepared to support the need for more and better housing.  Mexico is rated investment grade, and lower interest rates translate into incentives for corporate investment and consumer spending.  At the same time, Mexico’s capital markets are quietly broadening the housing sector’s sources of capital.  Local pension funds and foreign institutional investors are helping to develop a well functioning and liquid mortgage-backed securities market. Learn more about the market, how it is evolving to meet growing demand, and identify opportunities for building, trade, and investment in Mexico.
