Special Presentation: Age-Targeting: A Risky Plan
It may be tempting to respond to market demand for "active adult" housing by merely tailoring the marketing for communities to a certain group of mature homebuyers. However, builders who choose to age-target instead of age-restrict can be at risk for violation of fair housing law.

Join the 50+ Housing Council's Advocacy, Legislative, and Rental Seniors Housing Committee for a special presentation titled "Age-Targeting: A Risky Plan," from 2:30-4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 11. Attorney Eric A. Berg, of DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US LLP, will provide an overview of the law and discuss why builders should avoid age-targeting practices.

Mr. Berg has provided counsel on the Americans With Disabilities Act, the Fair Housing Act, and other federal, state, and local handicapped-accessibility and civil-rights statutes. He has also published articles and conducted seminars on a variety of construction-related topics. After the presentation, there will be plenty of time for discussion. Don't miss this informative session!
