NIC Introduces ‘Seniors Housing and Care Symposium’
First Symposium To Take Place On March 7-8, 2007, In Las Vegas

A new conference is being created to address financing issues in seniors housing and care for small operators and lenders, according to the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry (NIC). The 2007 NIC Western Regional Symposium will take place on March 7-8 at the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, Nev.

“The NIC Symposium is being created to address the financing and growth needs of owners and operators who have small portfolios of properties or perhaps a regional focus,” said Robert G. Kramer, NIC president. “It will also serve to educate the financial community, especially community banks, who want to provide financing to this growing and specialized real estate asset class.”

Along with opportunities to network, the event will enable attendees to take advantage of educational sessions led by prominent industry leaders. Session topics will include: accessing capital; key industry trends; growth strategies in today’s market; using best practices and benchmarking data; valuation issues, replacement facilities and third-party reimbursement; and hearing about the future of seniors housing and care models, capital sources and customers.

The symposium kicks off on Wednesday, March 7 at 12:30 p.m. An evening reception will give providers the chance to network with financiers. The event ends the following day at 3:00 p.m.

Registration rates for the 2007 NIC Western Regional Symposium are $500 for operators and $650 for other attendees, which include meals and the reception. Prices increase $100 after Jan. 17.

Founded in 1991, the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry is a nonprofit organization providing information about business strategy and capital formation for the senior living industry.
