NIC Announces Keynote Speakers for Western Regional Symposium

Bill Pettit, president of Merrill Gardens, and Tony Mullen, NIC research director, will be the featured speakers at the first NIC Western Regional Symposium.  The conference, created by the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry (NIC) to address financing issues in seniors housing and care for regional and local operators and lenders, will take place on March 7-8 at the Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa in Las Vegas.

On Wednesday, March 7, conference attendees can attend a keynote presentation titled “Seniors Housing & Care: Creating Profitability.” Mullen will present a historical perspective on the seniors housing and care industry as well as detail the current state of the industry. He will also address growth issues that are specific to the local and regional operator and community lender.

The following day, Thursday, March 8, attendees will get a look at the future of the industry with Bill Pettit. “The Future of Seniors Housing & Care: New Models, New Capital Sources, New Customers” will reveal what one of today’s most successful seniors housing leaders sees on the horizon. He will discuss new models of service delivery, changing customer expectations and ways to capitalize on these changes.

In addition to the keynote sessions, attendees can take advantage of other general sessions on topics such as accessing capital, growth strategies in today’s market, and using best practices and benchmarking data. Breakout sessions will cover expanding a seniors housing business, replacement facilities versus new construction and an introduction to lending to this industry.
