Featured Best of 50+ Housing Awards Winner: Backcountry Waterdance Collection: Mountain Mist

Backcountry Water Dance Collection, Mountain Mist, developed by Shea Homes, was a silver  winner in the Model Home Merchandising Category. This model home featured interior design by Kimberly Timmons Interiors.

The gated community, located in Highlands Ranch, Colo., was designed to take full advantage of the natural surroundings, including a private nature park with 467 acres of undeveloped land. The warm colors used to enhance the interior design, coupled with ebony floors and granite counter tops, allow for seamless integration of heirloom furnishings and contemporary accents in the home.

The style of the model's interior was inspired by the Tudor Mansion exterior, utilizing a brick facade wrapping the arched entry to the dining room and a two-story fireplace in the great room.

The lower level is a space for entertaining, complete with a bar to host wine tasting events, a billiards table, darts, and large screen television. Rooms were built with a variety of options for personalization. The remaining space in the lower level was used for a craft room.

The layering of design elements and attention to detail fuse together, creating a sophisticated and comfortable retreat.
