50+ Magazine Goes Online: The Debut Issue

The first issue of the 50+ Housing Online Magazine was published electronically last month, just before the Symposium in Philadelphia. As most of you already know, the costs of printing the magazine on paper became prohibitive during these difficult economic times.

But no one wanted to lose the great information that we received from the Magazine — so the decision was made to take the magazine online. Putting this information online and available by e-mail allows the staff to insert live links to additional resources and Web sites directly into the stories. By including links to the Web sites of our authors, we make it easier for readers to find out more about them and contact them directly. And readers can respond instantly to the magazine’s content by e-mailing the editor with information that cmight be added to the story, or a suggestion that might make its way into a follow-up story.

As NAHB gains access to more powerful internet capabilities — and those will be coming throughout next year — there will be even more new features to come. We hope to keep the vast majority of our members as subscribers, and add new ones as well. If you are an NAHB 50+ Council member who did not receive the premiere issue of the Online Magazine, here's the link. In addition, please send your e-mail address to the editor, Ann Marie Moriarty to insure that you will be added to the list for future issues. [Return to top]
