50+ Housing to Be Featured at 2010 International Builders’ Show
Here is the latest information — accurate as of this moment! — on 50+ housing at the 2010 International Builders’ Show coming up Jan. 19-22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas. In all, there will be more than a dozen education sessions on key topics related to 50+ housing.

Don’t miss the following programs:

• 50+ Economic and Market Forecast — Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1:30-3:00 p.m. At this important session, you'll get an overview of the economic conditions that have an impact on active adult and senior housing markets, and you'll hear forecasts for the short and long-term. For builders in this market, this session may be the closest thing they can get to having a crystal ball! Executives from some of the industry's best firms will give you their take on the state of the market and answer your questions.

• 50+ State of the Industry: Builder Forum — Wednesday, Jan. 20, 10:00-11:30 a.m. Today's economic climate is challenging builders, both large and small. In this session, you'll hear from an expert panel of builders as they look forward and share insights on the best way to ride out the downturn. You'll also gain useful tips on ways to take advantage of opportunities that always seem to appear at the bottom of a business cycle. This session features national builders as well as small to mid-size builders who are persevering through a down cycle and emerging stronger than ever.

• 55+ Housing by the Numbers — Wednesday, January 20, 1:30-2:30 p.m. Get the latest research from the National Association of Home Builders and the MetLife Mature Market Institute. Experts will analyze data from recent consumer and builder surveys to examine emerging industry trends. The survey looks at current homes and communities and what 55+ consumers are looking for in the future, including design features, amenities, home finance and acceptance of green building and universal design. The builder survey looks at builder perspectives on these same issues. The panel will break down similarities and differences between consumers and builders to help you better understand your target market and give you the tools to build and design better homes and communities for the next wave of boomers.
