Take Advantage of NAHB Discount for 2009 AARC Conference

The city of Chattanooga, Retire Tennessee, and the Tennessee Department of Economic & Community Development are rolling out the red carpet for the 2009 Annual American Association of Retirement Communities (AARC) Conference on Nov. 4-6 at the downtown, waterfront Marriott & Convention Center in Chattanooga, Tenn. Architects, builder/developers, civic leaders, economic development professionals and universities will network and share at this year's conference, with the goal of tapping into the nation's 76.5 million boomers as they reach retirement age.

NAHB Chief Economist David Crowe is the conference's keynote speaker. Crowe will discuss the second part of a collaborative research project by NAHB and the MetLife Mature Market Institute titled "55+ Housing: Builders, Buyers and Beyond." This new data includes the latest demographics to target retirees from NAHB's recent builder and consumer surveys.

Other highlights include "Green Strategies," a discussion of the tornado that completely wiped out Greensburg, KS, in May 2007. This inspiring story, featured on The Discovery Channel, showed how the town was rebuilt as a green community. Rachel Stroer, BNIM, will talk about what building "green" can mean for a community.

View the conference agenda at this link, and browse a list of sessions and other activities at the AARC Conference, including a Southern-style dinner on the Delta Queen, docked on the Mississippi River. Register now  to take advantage of the exclusive discount for NAHB 50+ Housing Council members.
