New Regulations Coming on Storm Water

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is requesting comments on a survey targeting the construction industry on stormwater controls. EPA plans to propose and take final action by November 2012 on a national rulemaking for stormwater discharges from newly developed and redeveloped sites. The survey which is now available to the public for comments, will be used to inform this national rulemaking.

The proposed survey consists of three separate mandatory questionnaires:  one specific to the construction industry, one directed to owners and operators of MS4s, and one directed to States and U.S. territories. The industry questionnaire is found here: http://www.epa.gov/npdes/pubs/ind_questionnaire.pdf

The Federal Register Notice has a 60-day public comment period which ends on December 29th 2009. EPA’s website has the following documents 1)FR Notice 2) Fact sheet; 3) ICR support statement; and 4) Questionnaires. View those at this link:

NAHB is reviewing the proposal and will be submitting comments on this ICR. Please send any comments to Ty Asfaw at easfaw@nahb.com or call her at 202-266-8124. [Return to top]
