The Florida Home Builders Association is in the process of launching a state 50+ Housing Council this year. The Florida 50+ Housing Council will hold a formation meeting during the 2008 International Builders' Show in Orlando. The meeting will take place from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at the Orange County Convention Center, West 107, Level I.

In addition, several local councils are offering the Certified Active Adult Specialist in Housing (CAASH) designation courses this spring. The schedule is as follows:
- Greater Washington 50+ Housing Council — Shulman, Rodgers, Gandal, Pordy & Eckert, PA, 11921 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Md. The Designing for the Active Adult course will be offered Tuesday, Feb. 5. Contact Samantha Ager by e-mail or 301-445-5411 to register.
- Greater Kansas City 50+ Housing Council — HBA of Greater Kansas City, 600 East 103rd St. in Kansas City, Mo. All three classes will be taught, including: Trends and Research Methods to Define the Active Adult Lifestyle, Wednesday, March 12; Designing for the Active Adult, Thursday, March 13; and Selling to Active Adults, Friday, March 14. - Twin Cities 50+ Housing Council — BA of the Twin Cities, 2960 Centre Point Drive in Roseville, Minn. Trends and Research Methods to Define the Active Adult Lifestyle will be offered on Thursday, March 20. Contact Kimberly Lockwood by e-mail or 651-697-7571.
- Atlanta 50+ Housing Council — Greater Atlanta HBA, 1484 Brockett Road in Tucker, Ga. Atlanta will offer the following courses this spring: Selling to Active Adults, Monday, March 24, and Trends and Research Methods to Define the Active Adult Lifestyle, Tuesday, March 25. - Southern Calfornia 50+ Housing Council — PCM Orange County Headquarters, 23726 Birtcher Dr. in Lake Forest, Calif. Southern California will offer all three courses: Selling to Active Adults, Tuesday, March 25; Designing for the Active Adult, Wednesday, March 26; and Trends and Research Methods to Define the Active Adult Lifestyle, Thursday, March 27. - New Jersey 50+ Housing Council — Atlantic Builders Convention, Taj Mahal, Atlantic City, N.J. All three CAASH courses will be offered: Trends and Research Methods to Define the Active Adult Lifestyle, Tuesday, April 15; Designing for the Active Adult, Wednesday, April 16; and Selling to Active Adults, Thursday, April 17.
