U.S. Conference of Mayors Public/Private Partnership Awards

The U.S. Conference of Mayors, in conjunction with its Mayors Business Council Members, is once again sponsoring “Excellence in Public/Private Partnership Awards” to recognize outstanding public/private partnerships to inspire cities and private enterprise to work together to improve the quality of life in America’s urban centers.

To be eligible, Mayors Business Council Members must submit an application with a member of the Conference.  Partnership projects must have been in existence before June 2006 to be eligible.  The project may address numerous areas, including transportation, economic development, housing, recreation, jobs, energy, and the environment.

Two projects will be awarded for excellence and eight will be given for outstanding achievement.  Projects will be judged by two independent panels appointed by the Conference and based on the following criteria: improved delivery services, innovation, replicability, sustainability, cost savings, creativity, and economic/business benefits.  The awards will be presented in Washington, DC during the Conference’s winter meeting in January 2007.

For more information, including an application, e-mail Carlos Gutierrez in NAHB’s State & Local Political Operations department, or call him at 800-368-5242 x8242. [ return to top ]
