  Letter from the HBI Chair
Welcome to another edition of Building Futures. I want to take this opportunity to welcome the newest recipients of our online publication, the Executive Officers of the state and local home builders associations (HBAs). Special thanks to HBI Trustee Bob Weiss, Executive Officer of the HBA of Kentucky, for his introduction of the newsletter in Perspectives on Association Management, the online newsletter of NAHB’s Executive Officers Council.

In addition to providing a crucial link between students and the residential construction industry, HBAs also establish the framework from which each NAHB Student Chapter can grow. Their role in connecting chapter members with industry professionals is invaluable. Their involvement and participation is critical, for without the HBAs, there are no NAHB Student Chapters.

I invite you to read through this issue of Building Futures. Inside, you will find all the latest news regarding NAHB Student Chapters’ year-end developments, including information on the 2005 International Builders’ Show and the many activities surrounding the week in Orlando. Additionally, you’ll see some new developments in member benefits coming your way this fall.

Again, welcome Executive Officers. And student members, enjoy your summer vacation. As always, please forward Building Futures to your friends and colleagues.

Sincerely,

James A. Sattler
