Largest Ever Job Fair Planned for the 2005 IBS

Each year, in conjunction with the International Builders’ ShowHome Builders Institute holds many events for the Federation’s youngest members. The NAHB Student Chapters’ Building Careers Job Fair, for example has been drawing recruiters from member companies from across the country for more than a decade.

This year, the Building Careers Job Fair will be held on Friday, January 14, 2005, in the South Hall of the Orange County Convention Center. Starting at 2:00 in the afternoon, more than six hundred students will walk through to meet their future employers. So far, 25 booths have been sold, some with exhibits to rival the size of many of the booths on the Main Exhibit Floor.

Toll Brothers has hired hundreds of top notch students from the NAHB Job Fair. Over the years this job fair has helped Toll Brothers hire people who contribute to our reputation as the #1 luxury homebuilder in the country,” said Jay R. Lehman, Director of National Recruiting. Toll Brothers has participated in the event since 1996, and recently came on board as an NAHB Student Chapters corporate partner.

Featured in May’s Big Builder magazine, the Building Careers Job Fair has connected many construction management students from top schools and universities with their first job, whether as a start-up internship or a fulltime position.

New companies are still signing up, and there is still space until the December 31 deadline. For more information on registration and to view a list of participating companies, visit http://jobfair.hbi.org.
